NEYEN HITS THE 90s AGAIN
Neyen, our outstanding and iconic wine from Apalta, made with pre- phylloxera vines dating back to the 1880s, has received 90 point ratings once again from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, this time for the 2014 vintage.
Neyen, the Spirit of Apalta, is a wine that truly reflects the centenary vines and unique soils from our property in Apalta. A new world wine with an old world essence. Neyen is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménére. Serving as the wine’s back bone, Cabernet Sauvignon adds structured smoothness, while Carménère, Bordeaux’s lost variety, delivers a soft texture and silky finish.
Neyen 2014 received 90 points in the December edition of Wine Enthusiast and 90 points in the November edition of Wine Spectator where it was described as ‘Minerally and well-proportioned, with iodine notes to the red plum, dried currant and baker’s chocolate flavors. Sanguine accents show on the taut finish.’
